Web Deux point Oh & WhyOhYou

Uno. Emerging technology, I feel, with have a great affect on literacy. The more blogs there are, the more people will be writing and reading. Ebooks and Ereaders make it easier to get read more and get a hold of books you are interested in. Technology makes it more accessible for us to expand our knowledge. Spell check lets us see our mistakes as we type and helps us improve on our grammar and spelling errors. I accidentally just spelled "grammar" "grammer" and spell check picked that up, I might not have caught that without it. Little things like this will help us expand our knowledge, pick up on detail, and improve our literacy skills.

Deux. Web 2.0 is challenging us to "rethink ourselves" and different aspects of our lives by taking a look at technologies capabilities. Machines pick up on the things we do and technology keeps progressing. years ago people couldn't imagine the technological advances we have now, such as 3D tv's. Years from now, technology will be more advanced than most of us now can even imagine. It's so easy to communicate with those in other countries, you can send someone in China a picture of the CN Tower you took on your cell phone and they would recieve it in a matter of seconds. Web 2.0 is linking people together and its challenging us to expand our thoughts and imagination to doing more than we can do now. With the technology advancing it's hard for us to keep things to ourselves, as well. So it is also challenging us to rethink aspects of our lives that we make so public. Information will be so much more accessible and we need to rethink what we want out there and what we want to ourselves. You never know the things out there that can come back and haunt you in the future.
